Writing, writing, writing! Looking around. Really. Looking. Questioning. Really. Questioning. Thinking. Thinking big. Thinking about writing, talking about writing, dreaming about writing, re-writing. Reading. More reading. Editing, more editing, re-writing.
Logophilia, pithiness. The school paper every three weeks, but not just any school paper. No. The best school paper that ever clicked and clacked its way off a printing press. Re-defining the school paper for our generation. The most engaging, informative, original, provocative and just plain interesting, passionately written, beautifully-crafted, best-looking, must-read cover-to-cover rag we are capable of, and then some. Otherwise, why bother?
To succeed in this class, you don't have to be a great writer, but you should be up for trying to be a great writer. And you'd better have your brain in gear. Slackers will go down. This will not be a free-ride excursion.
I want those ready to rise to the challenge, the best gray matter this school has to offer, the most creative, funny, irreverent, kooky, deep, eager-to-excel scalawags on the peninsula.
Anyone need to see their counselor to transfer out?
