Web Design 2004–2005
We learn three programs commonly used in web design, Photoshop+ImageReady for photo editing, compositing and image optimization, a vector animation program (Flash) and a WYSIWYG HTML editor (Dreamweaver), as well as some hand coding. Issues specific to web design such as CSS, accessibility, bandwidth and wc3 standards, as well as general design considerations and tailoring sites to target audiences will be discussed.
Students will design a personal page and web pages for actual clients so they can experience the real demands and challenges of working for and with other people on creative projects. Critiques of student and online web pages will help students develop criteria with which to evaluate their own work and the work of others.
